Biodiversity – Corporate objectives and targets

2010 Objective – To demonstrate peer group leadership in delivering solutions to reduce our impact on the environment.

2004 Target – Develop and trial biodiversity action plans on new PFI and one new road project.

We have successfully trialled our action plans and received a 100% score for this target. Biodiversity Action Plans have now become a part of our normal processes for big contracts.

The following information was presented to our auditors:

• Biodiversity action plan at Oxford John Radcliffe Hospital site

• Biodiversity action plan on the A429 (road project) including key species, issues, actions, habitats etc and an update on progress of implementation.

2005 Target – Produce guidance for, and roll out, Biodiversity Action Plans.

We have provides guidance and examples on our intranet via our Sustainability Toolkit and are currently rolling out.
