Carillion – Roads Maintenance and Roads Projects – Integrated Management Systems (IMS) Plan 2004

This Plan has been devised to show the specific targets that the Roads IMS team will be focussing on during 2004 to support and drive forward the key IMS issues within Carillion Roads Maintenance and new Roads Projects. In order to deliver the targets laid down in this Plan for the Roads business, there are two aspects that are fundamental to its success – ownership and consistency.

Support as appropriate will also be given to specific Business and Contract/Project targets and Key Performance Indicators that have been set outside the parameters of this Plan. The ongoing management of specific IMS issues will be undertaken as a matter of course and are not necessarily referenced below.

IMS Management Systems	1	Production of a Roads management system that reflects the Roads business needs.
	2	Monitor compliance to external/internal findings from Audits.
Health and Safety	3	Deliver a consistent approach to the management of Health issues across the Roads business for employees.

	7	Monitor target AFRs for 2004 within Roads, supporting operational management plan’s and achieve the targets.
	8	Continue to drive Don’t Walk By Campaign within Roads
	9	Implementation of Safety and Environmental Training Matrix
	10	Integrate IMS into Roads induction
Environment	11	Recycle office waste by 70% and site waste by 40% over 5 years.
	12	Reduce environmental impacts of contract operations through the management of Environmental Aspects registers.
	13	Implement Sustainability Highlights Best Practice monitoring sheet in Carillion Roads (include Supply chain and Community partners).
	14	Hold sustainability workshops for all roads projects (at mobilisation, tender and operational stages) to include waste management and renewable resource issues.
	15	Continue to communicate Carillion’s Sustainability Vision, Strategy and Policy to internal and external stakeholders during tender, mobilisation and operation contracts (Roads, Transport and plc).
	16	Trial Biodiversity Action Plan(BAP) on 1 new Carillion Roads Project (Corporate Sustainability target).
