Activities:

Carillion Highway Maintenance at the M25 Sphere have been involved with a number of initiatives to support the local community:

•	Members of the 3 M25 Sphere teams who took part in the Three Peaks Challenge presented the money they had raised to by the even (£2888) to the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS). The Three Peaks participants scaled the three largest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales. Five team members attended the cheque presentation and were shown around the HEMS call centre and helipad. A further member of the M25 Sphere team received a helicopter ride after winning 1st prize in a fund-raising rafflle (which raised a further £600).
•	M25 Sphere donated high-visibility jackets to the teachers at Brockham Primary School in Dorking, Surrey. The gesture follows an approach by PC Mark Griffiths of Godstome Mobile Support Centre to one of the route stewards about the possibility of providing the jackets. The jackets will be used when escorting school children around the village.
•	Andy Parker Carillion’s Contract Manager, completed a 10 km run in aid of Cancer Research. The run took place in the picturesque grounds of Leeds Castle in Kent, although he didn’t have too much time to enjoy the scenery as he completed the run inexactly one hour. Andy said: “I was reasonably pleased with my time…Many thanks to all M25 Sphere colleagues who very kindly sponsored me and have helped me raise £400 so far for an extremely worthwile cause.”
•	M25 Sphere assisted with traffic management and parking control for the Effingham and Leatherhead mini rugby festival in March. Held at the King George V playing fields in Effingham, the event involved 72 squads and over 800 boys and girls.
•	Staff raised £528 towards the 2003 “Jeans for Genes” fundraising campaign, which aims to raise money for research into serious and life-threatening genetic disorders that affect children.
