Case Record – Work with the Construction Industry Training Board

Activity: Carillion has been working in various centers nationally with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), Connexions (see Carillion Building make Connexions Case Record), Learning Skills Development Agency and other organizations. This work has included learning projects presentations, careers fairs and education activities to promote the wide variety of opportunities within the construction industry.

•	Carillion is entering the 3rd year of operating a Scholarship scheme with Coseley High School a secondary school local to our Head Offices.
•	The aim is to encourage and engage 14-16 year olds in looking at the construction industry as a viable and worthwhile career through the development of construction as an integral part of the schools curriculum.
•	The partnership is unusual in that it is between education and industry, moreover driven by industry and seeks to fill the need for schools to develop a more vocational curriculum.
