Carillion has adopted six core
values to help everyone in the business play their part in
delivering our strategy.
The values were created after
a series of workshops involving senior managers and have now
been adopted by Carillions main board executives. The
values were communicated through a series of briefings in
each of the businesses.
The values are;
Openness
Openness is about establishing
trust, integrity and transparency within Carillion and with
its customers and suppliers. It includes listening to concerns,
ideas and issues and being willing to bring problems and difficulties
into the open at an early stage. It also emphasises sharing
good news and communicating about potential opportunities.
Collaboration
Collaboration means working together
to deliver the best possible solution for all concerned. This
involves using, sharing and respecting the different skills,
knowledge and experience of everyone involved.
Mutual Dependency
Mutual Dependency is about working
with customers, suppliers and colleagues in such a way that
both risks and rewards are shared and long-term sustainability
is assured. It is about recognising that success can be achieved
only if all parties work closely together, understand each
others objectives and seek to gain the best for all.
Professional Delivery
Professionally delivery emphasises
the need to deliver work in a professional manner, ensuring
that targets are met, profit is made and quality, safety and
environmental standards are maintained.
Focus on Sustainable, Profitable
Growth
Sustainable growth in profits
and cashflow is developed by judging when to focus on todays
objectives and when, and how, to invest for the future. It
is about enhancing the long-term profitability of Carillion
through developing long-term relationships, keeping an eye
on developments in the market place, acting with the whole
group in mind and creating a fast and flexible approach to
the ever-changing business environment.
Innovation
Innovation is the constant search
for fresh or novel approaches and improvements to every aspect
of running the business. This includes strategies, products,
services and ways of working that enable Carillion, its customers
and its suppliers to create competitive advantage. Innovation
comes from sharing knowledge, focusing on continuous improvement
and learning from others.
